Since Route 66 runs alongside several Interstate highways, you can still travel on many portions of the original roadway that will accomodate your RV. If you have a large rig or a towable, it is sometimes best to stay in an RV Park (near a larger city) and see sections of the downtown Route in your car or truck.

Located at the Expo Center Complex in Claremore are two great facilities, the RV Park and the Super Recreation Center. The RV Park features full hook-ups with 20, 30 and 50 amp electric service.
The park is beautifully landscaped with a handicap-accessible playground. Other amenities include BBQ grills, picnic tables, Showers, Laundry, Restaurants, Museums, Shopping and Tourist Attractions are close-by.
Just steps away, the Super Recreation Center operated by the Claremore Parks and Recreation Department is an outstanding facility. The Rec Center features an indoor Olympic-size swimming pool, basketball, tennis and racquetball courts, weight/exercise rooms and indoor and outdoor jogging tracks. Daily passes are available for fee activities. Expo Events happen often.

The City of Baxter Springs, Kansas has a real gem of a riverfront park that is located just 1/2 mile east of their downtown Main Street (Route 66) on 12 th. St. (Hwy. 166). Riverside West Park is a great place for traveling 66'rs (and groups) to relax in the shade and enjoy a picnic. Tent and RV camping (with hook-ups) is provided, and other activities include swimming, fishing, boating, canoeing and more.
Located a short distance off Historic Route 66 (just north of Lincoln, Illinois), CAMP-A-WHILE is both a Campground and a Full Hook-Up RV Park that is situated in a shady and peaceful country setting. Pull-Thru and Back-In sites, Soft Water, Electric, Tent Camping, Showers, Laundry, a Disposal Station and Free Wi-Fi make a stay at this small, owner-operated facility a pleasure.
